Opened from 10:00 - 17:00
During the May holiday, there’s so much to discover at Fort Kijkduin! Every day (except Friday), there are fish feeding rounds in the North Sea Aquarium at 12:30, 14:30, and 15:30. A caretaker will tell you all about the animals and their eating habits.
If you dare, you can even feed the fish yourself – hand-feeding shrimp to sharks! Fish food bags are available in the aquarium (while supplies last).
The fort itself also comes to life during free guided tours. On Thursdays and Saturdays, there is a Dutch-speaking tour at 11:30 AM and a German-speaking tour at 1:30 PM. The guide will take you through the fascinating history of the fort: who lived here, why it was built, and what it looked like.
Special tours will be held during the Defense Weekend at Easter, focusing on the military aspect of the fort, including the display of original 19th-century blueprints. These tours start at 13:30 from April 18th to 21st.
